Placement

Draws nothing static. It renders procedurally or not at all, so it may be invisible in the editor even when placed correctly.

An invisible marker that watches the player's horizontal distance every frame and switches the scene's weather on when they come inside its radius. It works in ANY scene — the weather names are where vanilla puts each one, not where it can go — and it keeps updating off-screen. One catch worth knowing: while the sky is mid-blend at sunrise or sunset it cannot change the weather, and runs the clock forward until the blend is over instead, so walking in at dawn looks like time suddenly speeding up.

Weather variants (8)

This actor is placed in one of these forms. Pick it from the editor's Weather dropdown. The value is what the actor's parameters store.

ValueWeather
No draw function0Overcast — Market
No draw function1Overcast — Lon Lon RanchThis one removes itself once Epona has been obtained (:76-78) — on a save past that point it never spawns. The Death Mountain overcast is the same grey sky but gated on the Fire Temple instead; for cloud with no gate at all, use Overcast — Market.
No draw function2Snow — Zora's DomainThis one removes itself once the Water Temple has been cleared (:87-89, :98-100) — on a save past that point it never spawns.
No draw function3Rain — Lake HyliaThis one removes itself once the Water Temple has been cleared (:87-89, :98-100) — on a save past that point it never spawns.
No draw function4Overcast — Death MountainThis one removes itself once the Fire Temple has been cleared (:108-110) — on a save past that point it never spawns.
No draw function5Thunderstorm — KakarikoThis one only exists during the well/Shadow Temple stretch of the story: it removes itself unless the Forest, Fire and Water temples are all cleared, and again once the Shadow Medallion is held (:119-125). The Graveyard thunderstorm is the same storm with no gate on it.
No draw function6Sandstorm fog — WastelandNot weather — it thickens the scene's fog instead, easing in over about a second once the player crosses the radius rather than snapping. It's the one type with no off-hysteresis: the same boundary switches it both ways. It leaves rain, snow and cloud alone, so it stacks with another marker.
No draw function7Thunderstorm — Graveyard
CaveatThis radius never triggers, so the marker sits inert wherever it is placed: 0 leaves nothing close enough, and 128 and up come out NEGATIVE because the game reads the value as signed. Use 1 to 127 — each step is 100 world units.

Parameters

Beyond the weather above, the parameters hold these fields. The editor shows each as a labelled control.
