Ocarina Music Staff Spot
Ocarina Music Staff Spot is a prop actor in Ocarina of Time.
Placement
Draws nothing static. It renders procedurally or not at all, so it may be invisible in the editor even when placed correctly.
Several types fire scene-specific cutscenes (built for the Graveyard, windmill, Door of Time) and permanently set story flags like 'opened Zora's Domain' — triggered from an arbitrary scene the cutscene data won't match. The low 6 bits are its switch flag (0x3F = none).
Type variants (8)
This actor is placed in one of these forms. Pick it from the editor's Type dropdown. The value is what the actor's parameters store.
| Value | Type | |
|---|---|---|
| No draw function | 0 | Unused (Despawns)The type in bits 10-15 must be 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 or 7 — everything else (including the default params 0) removes itself at spawn. Type 7 is the generic song trigger (bits 6-9 pick the song; 0xF = any). |
| No draw function | 1 | Zora Waterfall (story) |
| No draw function | 2 | Windmill Storms (story)Type 2 (the windmill/Storms spot) despawns when Link is an adult. |
| No draw function | 3 | Unused (Despawns, 3)The type in bits 10-15 must be 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 or 7 — everything else (including the default params 0) removes itself at spawn. Type 7 is the generic song trigger (bits 6-9 pick the song; 0xF = any). |
| No draw function | 4 | Door of Time (story) |
| No draw function | 5 | Sun's Song Grave (story) |
| No draw function | 6 | Royal Tomb (story) |
| No draw function | 7 | Generic (song sets switch) |
Parameters
Beyond the type above, the parameters hold these fields. The editor shows each as a labelled control.
Shown: 0x0000, the value a newly placed copy starts with.

bits 6–9: 16 optionsall 16 values usedOnly the six named songs and Any Song can set the switch. The values from Free Play to Any Non-Warp Song open other ocarina modes and never set it. - Switch Flag (0x3F = none)
bits 0–5: 0–63all 64 values usedOne of the scene's 64 switch flags. Actors that share a number are linked: when one sets it, every actor reading it reacts. Flags 0 to 31 are saved with the game, 32 to 55 reset when you leave the scene, and 56 to 63 reset on every room change. Pick a number nothing else in this scene uses unless you mean to link them. The panel's link list shows who shares it.
Rotation fields
This actor reads these rotation fields as settings, not as a direction. The editor shows each one as a number field.
| Field | Axis | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Song Range | Z | Link must stand within 90 units plus 40 times this number to play the song. The Sun's Song grave type ignores it. |
