Prelude Manual
Reference for Prelude, the browser editor and player for Ship of Harkinian. Every scene and every placeable actor has a page here, with the guides and the limits worth knowing before you start.
Actor and scene reference
A page for every scene and every actor Prelude can place. Check what an actor does and what it needs before you place it.
Ocarina of Time
Every scene, with its actors and the scenes it leads to. Every actor, with its object, placement notes, parameters and the scenes it appears in.
Majora's Mask
The same reference for Majora's Mask, from 2 Ship 2 Harkinian's mm.o2r. Many of its
actors don't have placement notes or parameter tables yet.
Known limitations
- Majora's Mask has fewer features. Music and Link are Ocarina of Time only.
- Majora's Mask always starts a new game on the first day in the browser. You can't
choose the day, the time or Link's form yet. The game needs an
mm.o2rfrom 2 Ship 2 Harkinian 5, and a ROM can't be converted for it yet. - Some scenes differ between game versions. When you edit one, Prelude puts the whole scene in your mod so it works on every version. The mod gets bigger. Game versions and your mod explains it, and Which resources rename lists every scene.
- The Nintendo 64 limits still apply. Rooms, actors and collision have fixed maximums, and a new scene must use one of the game's scene slots. SoH: Unbound (a Ship of Harkinian fork) removes most of these limits.
Guides
Longer pages about one topic each. A scene or actor page also links to its guides.
- Editing the Fishing Pond. The fishing game builds its own pond around the center of the world. What is fixed, what your scene controls, and how to build a custom pond that still works.
- SoH: Unbound. A version of Ship of Harkinian that removes the game's Nintendo 64 limits. Where to get it, how to use it with Prelude, and a table of everything it raises.
