Fish, Bugs, Butterflies Group Spawner
Fish, Bugs, Butterflies Group Spawner is an item/action actor in Ocarina of Time.
Placement
Draws nothing static. It renders procedurally or not at all, so it may be invisible in the editor even when placed correctly.
An invisible proximity spawner (children appear within ~1000 units of the camera). Bits 5-6 (spawn method) must be 0 or 1 or nothing ever spawns; bits 8-10 (pattern) must be 0-2. Butterflies need the field keep bank, and its fish swim in mid-air without water.
Spawns variants (4)
This actor is placed in one of these forms. Pick it from the editor's Spawns dropdown. The value is what the actor's parameters store.
| Value | Spawns | |
|---|---|---|
| No draw function | 0 | Grass (bushes)The low 5 bits must be 2 (fish), 3 (bugs) or 4 (butterflies) — everything else removes itself at spawn. |

Parameters
Beyond the spawns above, the parameters hold these fields. The editor shows each as a labelled control.
Shown: 0x2324, the value a newly placed copy starts with.
- Spawns
bits 0–4:0Grass (bushes),2Fish,3Bugs,4Butterflies4 of 32 values usedChildren spawn at the spawner's position and spread out on their own — fish swim off, bugs scatter, butterflies flutter (grass just stacks in place). Butterflies need the field scenes' object (gameplay_field_keep), so they won't appear in dungeons; fish and bugs work anywhere. - Count (0 = pattern default)
bits 12–15: 0–15all 16 values usedHow many children to spawn. 0 falls back to the Pattern's default — 12/9/8 for patterns 0-2, but ZERO for pattern 3, so with Pattern 3 an explicit count is required or nothing spawns. - Pattern
bits 8–10:00 (default count 12),11 (default count 9),22 (default count 8),33 (no default — set Count)4 of 8 values usedDespite the name, this shapes nothing — it only picks the default Count. Children always spawn at the spawner and disperse. - Respawn
bits 5–6:0Taken ones stay gone: Any that Link catches or kills stay gone until the room reloads.1Whole group returns: The whole group returns each time Link comes back in range. The first butterfly turns into a fairy when Link comes near holding a Deku Stick.2Nothing appears (2)3Nothing appears (3)all 4 values used
